HomeSchool Evaluation
Florida Law Statute 1002.41(1)(c)
For our homeschool evaluation to comply with Florida requirements, the parent shall provide for an annual educational evaluation in which is documented the student’s demonstration of educational progress at a level commensurate with her or his ability. The parent shall select the method of evaluation and shall file a copy of the evaluation annually with the district school superintendent’s office in the county in which the student resides.
How HomeSchool Evaluation Works
We offer comprehensive evaluations via zoom or telephone that assess your child’s educational progress using the student’s own personal benchmarks established previously for comparison. Our evaluators review samples of your child’s work, to compare the work and skills of the student earlier in the year, to what the student is capable of approximately one year later.
Cost
$40 for the 1st child
$35 for 2nd child
$30 for each additional child

FAQ
A portfolio evaluation is completed by a certified teacher in Florida and is used to assess yearly educational process. It typically involves submitting samples of work completed by the student from the beginning of the school year as well as at the end to evaluate progress.
A student’s homeschool evaluation is due at the same time every year. The date is determined by the date listed on the “intent to home school” notification submitted to the school district.
Evaluations are turned into the Home Education office of the county in which the student is registered as a Home School Student.
After reviewing the portfolio and chatting with the student, the teacher will issue a signed declaration of progress, made in accordance with the language of the Florida Statutes. The parent keeps a copy of the evaluation in the student file, and delivers the original document to the district superintendent’s office by the due date.
